So, sometimes I substitute teach at one of the local schools when I'm not doing other work-related things. I was at one of the elementaries a couple times this week. The first time I had children that are lower learning in reading and math. Well, during my math class, I had a third-grader who I have had in class a few times, but never really noticed him much because I know he's going to turn into the major jock of his class. Well, during this class, I noticed him smiling at me a lot and offering up a bunch of answers. I didn't think much of it until later that day he was walking down the hall and smiled and waved at me really big. That's when I started to realize that this kid is going to be gay/is gay.
Well, I was in his PE class on Friday, and he again smiled at me. When it came times for teams (because I had a special education student with me) I went over to his team and told him that I'd hate to have to beat him. Well, he thought that was funny. However, whenever he was in the middle (we were playing Chinese Soccer [racist name]) and he finished getting the ball through the other team's group of people to score a point, he always looked to me for the approval.
His face has a smile on it often, but his eyes have the sad eyes of knowing that something is different about him and not knowing what it is.
I pray for the best for him and hope that when he is the sports-stud someday the other kids don't pick on him.
You are such a kind and sweet person
